Straighten your smile with Smartee Clear Aligners
Smartee Aligners in Knutsford
Smartee clear aligners straighten teeth gradually with a series of removable, custom-made trays that are hard to notice when you smile. As well as aligners for adults, Smartee has treatment systems designed for children and teenagers, which can help guide teeth and jaws while they are still growing. At your consultation, Dr Marcin will assess your teeth and talk you through whether Smartee is right for you.
What are Smartee aligners?
Smartee aligners are clear, removable trays made to fit your teeth from a 3D scan. You wear each set for a period of time, and each one moves your teeth a small step closer to their planned position. For growing children and teenagers, Smartee can combine aligners with myofunctional trainers, which help with tongue posture, breathing and swallowing habits, and with small appliances that can help guide jaw development. Your treatment plan is designed around your own teeth, age and goals.
Benefits of Smartee aligners
- Discreet: the clear trays are hard to notice when you talk or smile.
- Removable: take them out to eat, drink, brush and floss as normal.
- Made for you: each aligner is custom-made from a digital scan of your teeth.
- Options for every age: separate systems for young children, teenagers and adults.
- Support for growing patients: treatment for children can include trainers and appliances that work alongside the aligners.
- Fun for children: Disney-themed packaging can help younger patients stay motivated.

The process
1.
Consultation and scan
Dr Marcin examines your teeth and bite, discusses your concerns and takes a quick 3D scan and photos. Your teeth are scanned digitally, so there are no messy moulds.
2.
Treatment plan
Using your scan, a digital plan is created showing how your teeth are expected to move. We explain the plan, the costs and any alternatives before you decide.
3.
Wearing your aligners
You wear each set of aligners for the time we advise, then move on to the next. For children, treatment may also include trainers or small appliances, and we’ll show you and your child how to use them.
4.
Regular check-ups
We monitor your progress in the clinic or remotely through the Dental Monitoring app, and adjust your plan if needed.
5.
Keeping your result
When treatment is complete, you’ll wear retainers to help keep your teeth in their new position.
Smartee aligners with Disney designs
Smartee is an officially licensed Disney partner, so children having Smartee treatment can choose a Disney or Marvel design for their aligner packaging and accessories. Having a favourite character on their aligner case and treatment pack can make the routine feel more fun for younger patients. Designs depend on what is available at the time of treatment, and we’ll show you the current options at your consultation.
- Mickey Mouse: a classic Disney favourite
- Spider-Man: for young Marvel fans
- Iron Man: another Marvel favourite
- Frozen: featuring Elsa

Smartee treatment options
Smartee offers different systems depending on your age, your stage of tooth development and the type of problem being treated. Some combine aligners with trainers or small appliances to help guide how the teeth and jaws develop. After your assessment, Dr Marcin will explain which options may suit you or your child.
- Smartee Kinder: for young children with baby teeth or a mix of baby and adult teeth. It combines aligners with myofunctional trainers and can help with problems such as crossbites, crowding, a narrow upper jaw or habits like tongue thrusting.
- Smartee Teen: for teenagers whose adult teeth are coming through. Alongside aligners, it can include appliances that help guide the position of the lower jaw while it is still growing.
- S11 palatal device: a clear appliance that fits against the roof of the mouth. It can be used with aligners to help widen a narrow upper arch or support the movement of teeth.
- Mandibular repositioning: aligners with built-in features that help guide the lower jaw forwards or into a more balanced position, for people whose lower jaw sits too far back, too far forwards or off to one side.
- Smartee SA: an appliance worn at night that holds the lower jaw forward to help reduce snoring.
- Smartee AG Kids: a growth guidance system for children aged 5 to 16.

See how Smartee aligners work
Every Smartee treatment starts with a digital scan of your teeth, which is used to plan each small movement before your aligners are made. Children and teenagers are still growing, so their treatment can also take into account how their teeth and jaws are developing, not only where the teeth sit. The video below shows how Smartee aligners are designed and made. If you have any questions after watching, we’re happy to talk them through at your consultation.

Quick answers to your questions
Who is Smartee suitable for?
Smartee has options for young children, teenagers and adults, so it can be used at different stages of tooth development. Whether it’s right for you or your child depends on your teeth, your bite and how your jaws are developing. Dr Marcin will check this at your consultation and explain the options, including any alternatives.
What age can my child start Smartee treatment?
Some children can begin treatment while they still have their baby teeth, so it’s worth booking an assessment if you notice crowding, a crossbite or habits such as thumb sucking or mouth breathing. Not every child needs treatment early, and if we think it’s better to wait, we’ll tell you.
How long does treatment take?
It depends on what needs to be treated and how your teeth respond. For children, treatment may be split into stages that follow their growth. We’ll give you an estimated timescale once your treatment plan is ready.
How many hours a day do I need to wear my aligners?
Most aligners need to be worn for most of the day and night, taken out only to eat, drink anything other than water, and brush your teeth. Children’s trainers and appliances may have a different routine. We’ll give you clear instructions for your own treatment.
Will it hurt?
Most people feel some pressure or tightness for a day or two when they start a new set of aligners. This is normal and usually settles quickly. If anything feels sore or doesn’t fit properly, contact us and we’ll check it.
Can my child choose a Disney design?
Children having Smartee treatment can choose from the Disney and Marvel designs available at the time, which feature on their aligner packaging and accessories. We’ll show you the current choices at your consultation.
