Rather than forcing the jaw open quickly and managing the consequences afterwards, slow expansion works with the body: gently stimulating new bone growth, building a stable wide arch form, and, crucially, working simultaneously with clear aligners so there is no unsightly gap between the front teeth at any point during treatment.

Your custom MARPE appliance is fitted and aligner attachments are bonded, all in a single visit, minimising the number of appointments from the outset.

Expansion phase

Retention & long-term results
Once the desired expansion is achieved, the MARPE appliance remains in place for several months to allow new bone to fully mature and stabilise across the widened arch. The mini-implants are then comfortably removed in-practice once retention is complete.
