MARPE (Miniscrew-Assisted Rapid Palatal Expansion) represents the gold standard in palatal expansion therapy, particularly effective for teenagers and adults whose palatal sutures have begun to mature. Unlike traditional expansion appliances that rely solely on dental anchorage, MARPE uses strategically placed titanium mini-implants to anchor directly to the jawbone, ensuring more controlled and stable expansion.

Using the DentalMonitoring® app, your progress is tracked remotely with regular check-ins from Dr Piekara. Teens – 1 activation/day, adults – 2/day, then reduced to 1 as expansion progresses.
Retention & long-term results
The MARPE appliance remains in place for 6–8 months to allow for bone regrowth and stability. After retention, the mini-implants are comfortably removed in-practice.
